Mirco Patarini in Nürnberg for the Second “Route 66” Concert

Mirco Patarini, Ladislav Horák, and Stefan Hippe’s journey through their hometowns for their
60th birthdays continues.
On 2 November 2026 at 8 p.m. the accordionists’ Route 66 celebratory tour will arrive in
Nuremberg, at the Großer Saal of the Kulturwerkstatt Auf AEG, a centre for culture and
cultural education.
The project set off from Prague on 23 October with a gala concert at the International
Accordion Days, of which Horák is artistic director. It now moves to the city home to many of
Hippe’s professional milestones, from his first music lessons to his role as Vice-president of
Nuremberg’s Music School, which is organising the concert.
In the programme, next to compositions by Kukal and Di Marino, there are two sheets signed
by the German musician: Capriccioso and Concerto for freedom. The latter, specially
composed for this concerts series for three accordions and string orchestra, reflects the
ensemble format at the heart of Route 66.
The three soloists, all born in ‘66, will once again share the stage accompanied by the
NeoKlasik Orchestra under the direction of Václav Dlask, before the final concert on 7
November at the Strumenti&Musica Festival in Spoleto, where it will be Patarini’s turn to play
host.
Audiences are invited to join the celebrations and enjoy a performance by these three
leading figures on the international contemporary accordion scene. Admission to the Großer
Saal on Monday, 2 November, is free. The venue is also equipped to improve accessibility
for people with mobility and visual impairments, with mechanised access routes and
guidance systems for visually impaired visitors, as indicated in the host’s website
Nuremberg Music School’s web page.
